Our highly respected criminal law department deals with the full range of criminal offences and local authority prosecutions, including benefit fraud.  Our criminal law partner Roger Merry is a duty solicitor, approved by the Legal Services Commission, and is available on an emergency basis for those in custody, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  This service is completely free.

The department is committed to providing full support to its clients.

We can represent you at both police stations and at court and will handle your case from start to finish.  We can help and advise those arrested or charged with any criminal matter including:-

Roger Merry will be allocated to your case from the moment it comes into the office and he will be able to advise you about and assist you with it whilst it is ongoing.  

There is no means testing for criminal work.  Therefore, anybody arrested and taken to a Police Station is entitled to representation by a Solicitor of their choice, free of charge.

If your case goes to Court, we will apply for a Representation Order (Legal Aid) on your behalf.  This will normally be granted in most cases depending on the seriousness of the allegations.
